About Chris Creamer

My name is Chris, and I am a white, queer, and nonbinary Master’s-level student therapist living in Houston, TX. I am committed to providing an open and welcoming space for marginalized individuals, including LGBTQ+ folks and BIPOC. My work focuses on adult individuals and couples seeking therapy for a variety of life struggles. I will be a particularly good fit for anyone struggling with life transitions, identity formation, coming out, sexual concerns, trauma healing, or relationship issues. I have a special fondness for working with people in non-traditional relationships, whether those relationships are same-gender, polyamorous, asexual, separately co-parenting, or any of the many other ways we connect with the meaningful people in our lives.

In my practice, I hold an intersectional view of feminism and multiculturalism, where none of us are “just one thing.” Our experiences are more than the sum of our parts, and our stories are more complex than the labels that apply to us. My goal is to learn from everyone I meet, make room for “it’s complicated,” listen first, and judge never.

I take an integrative, person-centered approach to counseling, drawing from therapeutic modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and positive psychology. Overall, I’m interested in the ways we talk to ourselves, finding solutions that work, and learning how to live and grow past the hurts in our lives that aren’t easily fixed.
